A bit of Monday Moog action for you today from one of my favourite French one hit wonders, The Peppers.  Originally released in 1973, ‘Pepper Box’ was originally featured on a TV commercial soundtrack. The playful and warm blend of library music and glam was produced by band member Pierre-Alain Dahan, who was also in the cult French disco group Arpadys.

The often overlooked link between Hot Butter’s ‘Pop Corn’ and the RAH Band’s ‘The Crunch’, this excellent synth oddity is a cut above your usual novelty 70s instrumental tune. A comprehensive anthology was released on Repressed Records a couple of years ago. So go down to your local record shop and grab a copy!
