Taken from his 1980 album Air Rocket, today’s Single of the Day comes courtesy of former Utopia keyboardist Roger Powell.  Gracing the Todd Rundgren-fronted band from 1974 to 1985, Powell’s keyboard virtuosity added an electrifying dimension to the group’s musical outlook. The protégé of the one and only Robert Moog, Powell went on to play on albums by David Bowie (1979’s Lodger) and Meatloaf (1978’s Bat Out of Hell).

‘Lunar Plexus’ is a pulsating cosmic synth excursion that conjures up images of dunes and far away planets. It’s slow and icy groove will leave you shivering! Or something like that. COSMIC!!!
