Probably best known for his sublime easy listening soundtracks, Piero Umiliani highlights his incredible versatility as an arranger and producer with this groovy little thing.

Taken from the compilation, Musica Elettronica Vol. 1 which compiled the more experimental and electronic side of Umiliani works from 1969-1971, ‘Centrali Termiche’ is a dreamy and fun number that has a light and silly breakbeat and some far-out Moog moments that recalls the likes of Jean Jacques Perry, Gershon Kingsley and Raymond Scott. It also has a rather adorable drawing of Piero on the cover, making it too cute and funky to resist!
