I was sorting out my records the other day (as you do) and I came across this little disco gem. Released in 1979, Number One Ensemble’s rare as hell track ‘Back to Heaven’ is pure disco delight. It got everyone’s tongues wagging in delirium when in was featured in CBS‘ (Cybernetic Broadcasting System) 2006 Top 100 list and it was impossible to get hold of. Only available as the b side to single Gipsy and as an album track, it has sent hordes of disco fans searching all over the world for a copy. Mind you, it has since been reissued on a few white labels and with the internet and all… well you know. It is obtainable. With its infectious sweet vocals and quite glorious bassline its a classy, sexy disco affair.
