Single of the Day: Affinity – Dont Go Away (Runaway dub)

August 2, 2010 12:38 pm / by / 3 comments

A dazzling track from 1983, Affinity’s ‘Don’t Go Away’ was produced by Warren Doris and Mark Kamins. Released on Island Records’ offshoot, Mango records, this cult Garage anthem is all about the Runaway dub on the flip. A massive favourite of Environ head honcho and nu disco dude Morgan Geist, the sublime mix of the bass, funk and FX makes this a true classic.

I’m on an 80s film-high right now, so this suits me to a tee. I’ll close my eyes and pretend I’m watching Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Those aren’t pillows!
