Hello! Sorry about the delays in posts, I’ve been sprucing up some aspects of the site, boring stuff really. Anyway, let’s crack on. Just a few songs that have been rocking my world for the past week and a half. Enjoy!

HERCULE – Little Green Man.

A quirky little number, this slightly off-kilter disco gem, is a bit of a cult record amongst beardy trainspotter types.  Sounding a bit weird when it was released in 1978, sounds a bit weird now. Keep your ears open for the shout outs to the disco hits of the time.

GRACE JONES – LA VIE EN ROSE (CASINOBOY VERSION) (TRACKY BOTTOMS)

The lovely boys at Tracky Botoms sure know how to spoil us with this fantastic Acoustic Boogie re-edits EP. It features the many talents of Casinoboy (AKA Toby Tobias), Lexx and Honey K  – each taking turns to weave their magic on Grace Jones, Guy Cuevas and Fleetwood Mac. I’ve picked Grace for your enjoyment, mainly because Toby manages to (slightly) transcend the original and turn it into a blissed- out instrumental balearic number. Sod the rain, turn this up and before you know it you’ll be on the White Island, growing a pony-tail and knocking back the doves. Or something. (N.B, the player for some reason is spelling Grace Jones as Garce Jones. Bloody machines! When will we learn?!)

 THE REVENGE – CADILLAC (JISCOMUSIC)

 Another storming re-edit from the Jisco Music crew. It’s been just over two years since the last Jisco release and it’s been worth the wait (it really has!). ‘Cadillac’ is a sterling re-work of Hot Chocolate ‘Heaven Is In The Back Seat Of My Cadillac’ which results in a nice piece of stomping-chugging disco (that’s a new one) and on the flip, the 6th Burough Project funk things up with ‘Planets’.
